ENABLING AUTISTIC CHILDREN TO BE THEIR BEST SELF
IN A WORLD THAT’S DIFFERENT

Autistic children work hard to navigate daily social situations at school, which can lead to heightened anxiety and impacts their well-being. This is a foreseeable but not inevitable part of their diagnosis.

As a clinician, teacher or parent supporting an autistic child, Bridges helps you equip them with the positivity and the skills and confidence for school and ultimately for life.

INTRODUCTORY 3-MONTH ACCESS

Bridges is now providing access to Module 1: Opinions-How People Think as an introduction to the curriculum.

Schools and clinIcs are seeing a positive impact from the social learning available in Module 1. It focuses on developing an understanding that people think differently and that because people think diffferently, it’s okay when they disagree.

Module 1 establishes the foundation for self-awareness (understanding yourself) and perspective (seeing the world from someone else’s point of view).

It encourages autistic children to share their own opinions and hear what other people have to say as well as manage disagreements. This helps them get along at school and at home so life is easier.

WHY THE CURRICULUM MAKES A DIFFERENCE

EMPOWERS YOU

Bridges provides you with the resources you need to build the child’s social understanding: posters, activities, videos and role plays.
A Teaching Dashboard to engage the child in the curriculum and a Learner Dashboard for the family to apply concepts or skills in naturally occurring situations.

ENABLES THE CHILD

The curriculum encourages the child to partner you in their social learning based on a shared understanding of the benefits of knowing more about people and situations.
The child is provided with opportunities to develop self-awareness and enhanced capacity to make independent social choices so they have confidence in being themselves in the social world.

EVIDENCE-BASED, PROACTIVE

Bridges is an evidence-based curriculum. An external evaluation by independent experts in the field of autism has found that the curriculum makes a sustained difference to the lives of able autistic individuals.
The curriculum takes a proactive approach to social learning that begins in the early school years.

SOCIAL LEARNING ACROSS THE LONG-TERM

The social learning in the curriculum builds progressively and is interconnected. It takes about 3 academic years to complete.
Young people who have followed the curriculum are more confident in social situations and feel good about themselves.

“He has challenged himself and done things I did not expect him to do.
Leadership roles in school, expressing his opinions and even welcoming
and enjoying social gatherings.”
